They were more than accommodating when my friend and I were late. Mr. Mercer greeted us at the door and toured us around the space. The artwork was beautiful and each peace had a story. Mr.Mercer explained not only the artwork but dropped so many gems on life, love and society. He even left my friend with a special gift. He is one of the kindest, purest hearted people we have ever met. Please support this business at all cost. They have done so many beautiful things for Black Art and culture in the last 40 years. I hope this place stays around forever and I can show it to my future children. Thank you so much Mr. Mercer this is an experience we Will remember forever and we will be returning!Felicia Walker2021-04-20Carol Esquilin2021-03-19A try!!!! Give the place your business!!!!Joseph Blake2021-01-04Best place anywhere for fine art in general and Black art in particular. Excellent framing and Mercer, the owner of October Gallery, will probably handle you personally with much appreciation, knowledge and warmth. My latest piece, a Kadir, was purchased AND framed here. I couldn't be happier...Michelle Williams2020-03-07Lovely local art gallery featuring African American art. 2.2.2020. I am writing this review on behalf of Dr. M. Tyler who has purchased original art named "King", by artist Laurie Cooper; also purchased a large African wood carved mask, as well as a wood sculpture affixed to a lovely wood base, Dr. M also purchased a black and white canvas photo of Harriet Tubman which she adores. Also on the same day, she viewed the film Harriet which was showing at the Gallery and sat in on a lively discussion after the movie. She is glad to have been apart of the lively, enriching, organic, art experience at October Gallery. Highly recommended. Thank you!Reggie Boothe2020-01-09Howard F Patton2019-12-07Load more
