Gaille “Gypsy Heart” Hunter is a visual artist as well as a singer-songwriter, poet and fashion designer.
A graduate of the Philadelphia University of the Arts Gaille is currently working on a doctoral of educational psychology.
Her close association with October Gallery of Philadelphia has afforded her the opportunity to edit art publications, curate university art exhibits, and produce educational radio and internet video programming.
Gaille’s most well-received paintings are the series she calls “Silhouette Children”. One of that series “Knowledge” appeared at the Woodmere Museum in Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania and another “Country Porch” at the Philadelphia African American Museum of Art. The series is presented on note cards as well in gift shops. Another series that express Gaille’s passion for color and vibrance is her Dance Arrays, two of which are owned by the renowned dance company, Philadanco.
Her pastel body forms and acrylic abstracts were displayed at the New York Public Library, a Novartis Black History Month Exhibit, and three consecutive ATA Annual Art Exhibitions in Morristown, New Jersey. Her pieces have been contracted to New York art dealers and the traveling art company – Art, Beats and Lyrics.
The author of 40 blues songs, Gaille “Gypsy Heart” records with New Orleans legendary bassist, Ed Wise. Their “Smooth Blues” officiates a new genre with sassy, sultry lyrics, classic blues forms and Gypsy Heart’s rich, melodic tones. Gaille performs her original poetry pieces from her book My Velvet Pillow, which is available on Amazon.com.
